Climathon 2020 Santos

Climathon is a global program aimed at generating solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change in cities. Organized by Climate-Kic, it takes place simultaneously in over 160 cities, involving more than 6,000 participants

Santos, being a coastal city vulnerable to climate change, was chosen as the host city for Climathon 2020, an event conceived and organized by the Climate Smart Institute

The target audience for generating solutions to these challenges included: startups with a positive impact, individual entrepreneurs looking to turn ideas into business plans, entrepreneurial researchers, and university student entrepreneurs.

The Climathon Santos process involved a call for entrepreneurs, a training program on entrepreneurship and planning, two days of work for ideation and preparation of a summarized strategic plan and one-pager for investors by the participants, and the creation of a video pitch.

In total, there were over 174 registrants and 36 participating teams, all of which completed a One-Pager and a Video Pitch as deliverables.

For 2024 the Climate Smart Institute is developing partnerships to hold a Climathon in the city of Recife.
